We don't hide the character in wood- we highlight it. Our style is rustic, and our builds have a story of their own.
Reclaimed wood has character that brand new, perfect store bought wood doesn't have. That's why we work with reclaimed wood almost exclusively. We recover wood from various sources around Central Florida. From modern manufacturing companies to early 1900s abandoned houses. We also recover a lot of material from beaches. Washed up wood and rope are some of our favorite materials to use.
Many pallets are consideted single use and end up being discarded illegally, or dumped in landfills. We recover this material, but reclaimed wood is never just "ready to use" as is. Processing the wood for use is a very time consuming process, and a lot of the material is not usable. We dispose of the unusable wood and metal in a responsible way. One of our members is an environmental science major who also works for the Department of Land Management. She has a lot of influence in our practices and how we do business.
All of our work is made by hand, so it is all unique. But we can customize any of our pieces, from size to stain or paint color. Or we can build something completely unique to the customers requirements. We also build and install pallet wood walls and ceilings. The material, size, color, etc, of our pallet wood is the customer's choice.
Our builders were both honorably discharged from the military with 14 years of total service between them. One was a U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Drop Master, and the other was a U.S. Army Sniper.
